For years Eben was an avid surfcaster in search of the coveted striped bass. He spent hours casting for them, catching and releasing them, handling them. He wouldn't eat them; to him they were like his friends. He's made a few in the hot shop over the years, and we revisited them this spring. Their coloring is so subtle and yet complex. These may be the last ones he makes, as the quest for perfection in form and color can be maddening. They have a punty mark on the side near the tail fin that makes them most appropriately displayed where one side will be the focal point
