Collection: Randi Solin

Randi Solin uses glass like a contemporary abstract expressionist painter. She has been working in glass for over 30 years. Her work has been collected, shown, and exhibited throughout the world, including the permanent collection at the White House, nine U.S. Embassies and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Solin earned a B.F.A. from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University, New York, and established her first glass studios in Northern California. She has worked in Southern Vermont since 1998.

She creates original blown glass sculptures for galleries, art consultants, interior design trade, public and private collections, and art collectors. Randi creates her signature glass artwork in her glassblowing arena at Fire Arts Vermont, located on the West River in Brattleboro, Vermont.

The optics of Solin’s work - the cut and polished top - is an integral piece of her process, her signature of sorts and an important component of her work. She has said, “My optics serve as the window into my coloration process, into the “soul” of a piece, allowing the viewer to peer into its interior life, like the rings of a tree. All of my pieces are intellectually created on that notion, that with each finished work a history is revealed.”
