Collection: Hopko Art Glass
Michael Hopko began working with glass in 1990 as an art student at Shasta College. After college, he apprenticed with several California glassblowers, developing his skills through hands-on work rather than formal training alone.
Hopko is best known for his signature hand-blown glass octopuses, recognized for their vivid color and lifelike movement. His portfolio has expanded to include a wide range of marine life—yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, great white sharks—as well as freshwater species like trout, bass, and salmon. Each piece reflects a deep connection to the natural world and a commitment to precision, form, and craft.
An avid outdoorsman, Hopko draws creative energy from nature, family, and community. His work captures the beauty and motion of aquatic life with stunning detail, blending art and craftsmanship in each sculpture.
Hopko lives and works in the Trinity Alps of Northern California, where he runs Hopko Art Glass.
